Fall back gracefully when product descriptions are empty

How this works

Merchants forget to fill in descriptions. Product cards then render with weird empty patches. The customer assumes the store is broken.

The obvious fix is an {% if %} block wrapping the output. It works. It also takes four lines to express something one pipe can handle.

Liquid's filter substitutes a fallback when the input is empty. Pipe in the value, pass the fallback as the argument:

{# Empty/nil description -> "No description yet." #}
{# Real description -> renders as normal #}

{{ shop.email | default: shop.url }}
{# The fallback can be another Liquid expression #}

default catches nil, false, empty strings, and whitespace-only strings in one expression. AI tools default to the four-line {% if %} block; the filter is the convention in every paid theme.

Why this matters in production

Merchants forget to fill in descriptions constantly. New product imports come in with blank fields. Empty `<div>`s look broken in production. The `default` filter is the one-line fix that ships in every paid theme.

Diego bulk-imported 14 SKUs this morning without descriptions. Add the default filter so the description div shows No description yet, check back soon instead of rendering blank. The preview product has a description, so you won't see the fallback in the preview - but your code runs on every product, including the 14 that don't have one yet.
