Your machine

Create a dev store with demo data, then make it your path store.

Passes when

Your path store is a store of type dev in an organization your login belongs to.

  1. Have a free Shopify developer account

    in the Dev Dashboard

    Create one at dev.shopify.com/dashboard. Already have one? Skip this step.

  2. Log in from the terminal

    in your terminal

    It opens your browser, then asks for an alias for the account: your email will do.

  3. Create the store

    in your terminal

    If it asks which organization, pick your own.

    shopify store create dev --name "learnshopifydev" --plan basic --demo-data

  4. Pick it as your path store

    If you have more than one dev store, the check below asks which one. Every later lesson checks that store.

Then verify

npx @learnshopifydev/cli check dev-dashboard-and-dev-store
