Show a 'Limited stock' warning when fewer than 10 units remain

How this works

You need two checks at once: stock is < 10 and > 0. Join them with and.

Don't repeat the long path in the condition. a short name once, then check that name:

On a product page, read the variant the customer is viewing: product.selected_or_first_available_variant.inventory_quantity (not product.variants.first).

Why this matters in production

Scarcity copy ('only 4 left!') is one of the strongest conversion levers a storefront has. Every paid theme has a low-stock component. The logic is almost always the same shape: pick the selected variant's inventory, threshold it, render if in range.

Task

The warning and its range check are scaffolded, but they read off a stock variable that doesn't exist yet. Apply the assign-and-compose pattern from the body: add one {% assign stock = ... %} line that names the long inventory path (product.selected_or_first_available_variant.inventory_quantity). See how the condition and output stay clean once the path has a name.
