Your machine

Install Node and the Shopify CLI, then run the check.

Passes when

node --version reports 22.12.0 or higher, and shopify version reports a 4.x release.

  1. Check your Node version

    in your terminal
    shell
    node --version
    You should see
    v22.12.0 or higher

  2. Install or update the Shopify CLI

    in your terminal

    Node too old? Install the LTS from nodejs.org first.

    shell
    npm install -g @shopify/cli@latest

  3. Open a new terminal and read the version

    in your terminal

    It should print 4.something.

    shell
    shopify version
    You should see
    4.8.4

Then verify

npx @learnshopifydev/cli check node-and-the-shopify-cli
