Teach me to ask the AI properly

Hey you.

I asked an AI to "show the price" and got "$1899". You fixed it last time, but I'd rather ask right the first time. Show me the prompt that gets correct price code in one shot.

How this works

Now the third move: directing the AI so its price is right the first time.

If your prompt just says show the price, you get raw cents (the bug from last lesson). Tell it to use the money filter and let the filter add the currency.

Why this matters in production

Every day you'll type instructions to an AI and paste back what it returns. The gap between a senior and a junior isn't typing speed anymore, it's knowing exactly what to ask for so the output is right. Vague prompts cost you the review-and-fix loop every single time.

Report a bug or suggestion

Write the prompt

Write a prompt that makes the AI render the product's price, correctly formatted (so it shows $18.99, not 1899).

A strong prompt names

What holds the price (the product's price).
How it should be formatted, name the money filter.
Let the filter output the currency symbol; don't ask for a hardcoded $.

What the AI generated

Run your prompt and the AI's code appears here, then renders in the preview.
