Connect your terminal first

I am Sarah, your lead developer. We are building a Shopify app, a program of your own that adds to a merchant's store. Ours sells several products as one bundle. Yes, the most standard app idea there is. That is on purpose: it takes you through all the fundamentals, and nobody will ask you to explain the idea.

First connect your terminal, so every check shows up here.

How this works

This path runs on your machine and your own store. A command line tool checks your work. You need JavaScript, a terminal and, from lesson 16, an AI coding agent of your choice. You also need a free Shopify developer account: lesson 3 sets it up. No other lesson comes first.

Why this matters in production

Every serious toolchain ships a doctor command, and every senior developer runs it before opening a ticket. Knowing whether a problem is your code, your toolchain, or the service is the diagnostic instinct that separates an hour of debugging from a week of it.
